Alternate heat

well been working on this for a while, weather hasn't helped. Built deck/room for new coal boiler. Picked up boiler today. Used piano dollies to move it thru house. Now to plumb/exhaust it and electrical hook up.

Its a Harman SF260 coal boiler.

That is good.
I always like to see/hear when people get off the Propane/natural gas and stop financing the rich Arab sheiks and the Greedy Oil company clowns.

I have a wood pellet burner, I havent started it yet, usually early November.

Propane and natural gas come from right here in North America and the majority of natural gas
come from right here in the good ol USA

With 40 acres of Oak Hickory woods I installed a wood stove this summer. I just had a truck load of sawmill slabs delivered so I do not need to fire up the splitter just yet.

Bet Gun Guru has a gas/fuel burning monster or two in his yard. Would be pretty sure that he doesn't drive an electric car.

I don't think he is done installing all the chimney pipe yet. Looks like an empty bracket above the last section of pipe.

I installed a 260 4 years ago. Once I got the hang of firing it it worked great. I installed a 98% efficient natural gas unit to back it up when my wife got preg. Ran the gas last year exclusivly so she didn't have to worry while I'm on shift and she had a newborn to take care of. Found out I can buy gas alot cheaper than coal and I don't shovel, shake grates or clean ash. Good Luck. Think I'm going to sell it.

What is so wrong with propane?

Other than the ridiculous cost, nothing.....

Tell yah what, when you burn 2 semi loads of wood per year to keep warm, you start to realize that with 'pane, you'd either be cold or broke.

Well Wisconsin has those little toy semi's though. haha

If I had to buy 2 Michigan Semi's of wood every year I'd be broke in a hurry.

LOL! Haha..... Yah, they can "only" load up to 98,000 when the frost is in. LOL They call you're semis in the up "monsters" over here. hehe.

I buy my firewood from a sawmill as blocks (off cuts) one trailer load at a time..... Fits about 1.5 cord per trailer load. Costs $85..... Just bring it home, and throw it in a pile, and take the trailer back for more....

I'm in NE Pennsylvania. You can try this link i am providing to see about coal sources.
If you and any others you know burn coal, get together get a full trailer load.(dump trailer) Plenty of info at link for suppliers, coal breakers, etc.
