Anyone watch American Pickers last night. They picked an estate that had several 8N fords. Looked like a couple stock ones, a Funck convertion and an aftermarket High Crop. O fcoutse they only mentioned them in passing to get to other stuff.

i thought they might try for one of those, but either they didnt know how easy they sell, or didnt want to deal with getting it back to their store

They said on one episode they will not mess with tractors. I watch the show but never have thought they were very smart. I thank the gal is the brains of the operation.

I've always though of that show as being mostly for entertainment. Seems strange to me that they could drive all the way from Iowa across country,(with gasoline at over $3.50 a gallon) buy up a few dollars worth of junk and drive all the way home and make any money. Probably sell their stuff on flea-Bay and make a killing on the shipping charges. ';>)

I think it's all scripted for TV. I don't see how that girl manages to find all those people with all that junk just using the internet. I mean it's not like they are companies that advertise, they are private people.

Have to remember that the show (history channel) pays alot of money to them to air the show. Just like American Chopper and the others. Look how much the Tuttles have inproved there life style! People contract the pickers to come to there place and neighors call them hopeing to get the junk cleaned up lol.

i will be a repeat: i have said, needs to be a 'tractor picker' or 'farm picker' on t-v. with all his stuff he buys, 'Beatles 65' said he would host that show. lol./// mike,i think they drive is a diesel, $4.00+ gal. if a camera crew follows them, why don't they fill their truck with the junk they buy. i agree with others, they waste time driving all over to pick up little trinkets. fill the da@@ van up. as others stated, just advertisement for junk yard sales. but then, who said they were smart?

I always assumed they made money by doing the show, plus they never really show you everything they buy. I know they also hand out flyers in towns and run ads. What gets me is they're in california right now. Makes more sense to stick to the midwest with diesel so high.

Caryc, I agree with you 100%. REALITY TV, my &##!

Just like the build a murdersickle or hotrod or 4X4 in 13-1/2 hours (or WHATEVER) with ALL sorts of stress, deadline and otherwise!
