Okay, my Bible devotion today was Proverbs 19:2 which says don't be hasty....I happened to think of it when I was changing an ammeter gauge on my 1953 JD60. (Regular tricycle row-crop, S/N 6023065-Gas engine) I would ASSUME the new gauge goes in like the old one-same wires to same terminals. But when looking at both, I noticed the new gauge (purchased at local automotive place) had positive and negative marked. Old one does not. Soooo instead of just 'throwing it on' I figured I better ask you guys. With the tractor being a positive ground do I have to figure anything out to ensure this is correct? As you look at the original ammeter from the backside, the left terminal had a red wire going to it and the right terminal had a white wire going to it with a black wire that went back to the ignition switch. Everything seemed to work fine when it was running I just don't wanna goof it up. Can't find a wiring diagram which says which one is positive or negative. Battery is currently disconnected. Thoughts?
