ammunition accountability act

Ok guys, just got an email about this and I ahve not heard of this before now. You might want to check this out. They say they want to code all ammunition with a serial number and raise the price of shells by a nickle a round. This is insane, in the world of external_link our country is going down the tubes and I just wonder how long its going to take before the United States ceases to exsist. Too all the insane stupid people who voted for this clown, I hope your all happy. He shouldn't even be allowed to be in this country.

Yep the U.S. is going down hill fast and we the people are to blame for most of it. I still think they should line those in office up in front of a firing line and shoot them all and let the ones that live go back in office. Also all those who serve in the military should have a pension just like those that serve in office

Buy all the ammo you can now before any of these Marxist laws go into effect. Those laws usually take some time before they become active.

It's a hoax guys, a check of the various states supposed to be considering such a act produced no legislation before any legislature. However, such bills we introduced in 2007-08 in a number of states, not federal, and went no where in any state introduced. It is not an issue before the US Congress.

I hope you are right my man, but If Osama/external_link can give us the shaft I'm sure he will, He ain't my president. Nothin personal but I just don't think he is fit for the job.

The only reason this and other laws hasn't passed yet is because midterm elections are coming in 2010 and politicians that are up don't want to pi$$ any voters off and get the boot. After that look out! Then the socialist ba$t@rd can finish us off. whether you like the NRA or not, everyone should join. If only for the info on the impending legislation. A lot of folks like to say "they'll never get my gun, ammo, ..." Okay, are you going to be the first one sent to prison for a felony gun violation? Because thats what will happen.

Well something is going on .If you don't believe me ,go to any Wal-mart store and try to buy pistol ammo .The shelves are bare and the Mgr. says he can't get orders filled for pistol ammo I was in 9 Super stores in Ind.and Ky. trying to get some 9mm.this past weekend,no luck.

This particular proposal has been around a lot longer than the current administration. Its primary proponent is the company who claims to have the necessary technology. Now I don't doubt that external_link would sign such a bill should it land on his desk, but your primary concern should be our state and federal legislators. I will remind you that our former president promised to sign the renewal of the Assault Weapons Ban if Congress could get it on his desk; it was the lack of votes in Congress, not a presidential veto, that killed the AWB.

The thing that is going on is that chicken littles are crying that the sky is falling and buying up all the ammo they can find. Production has actually increased in all the arms plants but even t 24/7 full capacity they cannot keep up.

Its one of those deals where you better get it while its still available and you can. I've seen more rights and more "things" lost in this country than I would have ever imagined. Get the ammo while you can. It wont go bad. Who would have ever thought you couldn't get a job in American? Just look at what is happening now. Dont think that they wont take something away because I have already seen way too much taken away in this lifetime.

You should be more concerned about this recent decision, which didn't get much attention in the press:

'June 2 (Bloomberg) -- A Chicago ordinance banning handguns and automatic weapons within city limits was upheld by a U.S. Court of Appeals panel, which rejected a challenge by the National Rifle Association.

'The unanimous three-judge panel ruled today that a U.S. Supreme Court decision last year, which recognized an individual right to bear arms under the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment, didn’t apply to states and municipalities.

'“The Supreme Court has rebuffed requests to apply the second amendment to the states,” U.S. Circuit Judge Frank Easterbrook wrote, upholding lower court decisions last year to throw out suits against Chicago and its suburb of Oak Park, Illinois.'
Circuit Court upholds Chicago gun ban Bloomberg

Its going to keep going down as long as we have Steve Erkle in the White House. We are being sold out and stripped of our rights much faster than those narrow minded idiots that voted this turkey into the White House.

If you'd actually researched it, you'd find it goes back to Bush, not external_link. It's been around for years.

As another mentioned, the Chicago court case is far more significant.

To be honest with ya, I don't have time to research anything. Right now I'm too busy trying to stay afloat in this suck egg mule economy and country. Maybe we should all just blow our brains out and end this misery of life. I have thought about it several times.
Life sucks!

Guys, The AAA is a dead issue. It was introduced on a state level in 18 states including KY which is one of the biggest free gun states in the union. It never even made it out of committee in any I have read about so far.

Ammo is scarce and high priced now simply because we the people are buying it faster than the factories can make it. It is not just pistol ammo. Our local walmart has not had any 22 LR ammo any time I have been there lately. The same is true with reloading supplies. Primers, powder, bullets, have all gone up and are scarce as well. Folks are just panic buying and over inflating the market.

If you had done your research, you would find that it was the nnalert and not Bush who were promoting the idea. Bush opposed the idea.

Yep when the Gov. starts owning the major shares of stock in any company it is bad news for us and the bad thing is people now days are so stupid they do not see the writing on the wall

I could open up on this one, but I won't. Just wanted to put in my .02 about this and other urban myths. My dad comes to me almost once a week and says "Well, they've done it, external_link took the guns," just because someone else told him something the NRA told him. He's said it clearly, he does not want to take your guns. Now quit buying all than damn ammo, I need a box of .44 mag for deer season and don't want to pay $60 for it.

Actually that's not quite true. The administration is young. Perhaps you've forgotten some of the militant anti-gun people in the Democratic party, and for the record, I no longer consider myself EITHER a Demopub or a Repulicrat. Just a few weeks ago, our esteemed sec of state--you remember nnalert? was blathering about her visit from Mexico, about fighting drugs. "We HAVE MUST etc get these assault weapons......."

I have this argument with my wife all the time. She thinks an
assault weapons ban is needed. I tend to agree, except for the old
give and inch, take a mile rule. I personally would never own one as
I think they're both ugly and useless, but I would not deny
someone's right to own one. If they get assault weapons, it's just a
matter of time before they come after my hunting handguns. We
just need to figure out how to get gun violence down and keep
them out of the hands of people who clearly have no business with
them.

That's profiling.Don't you know anything? The CiC and his supporters would never go for that....

Here's the thing: THERE IS NO SUCH THING as an "assault" weapon. You can take ANY "sporting" semi auto, strip the nice wood stock, add a bunch of idiot folding junk, stock, bipods, and "big" magazines taped together, and you have an "assault" weapon.

I don't know when we in this country are going to prosecute PEOPLE for what they DO, instead of MACHINERY that people USE

Mark is correct in his earlier post. This company, seeking to make profits, has developed the ability to put serial numbers on bullets. In order to market it, they also wrote an ordinance requiring the disposal of all non-serial number ammo within one year. Big penalties if caught with any except the serial number type after that date. The company gets the nickle. Adoption in just a few States will make them RICH. While the gun-banners and many in government may love this proposal, these folks seeking profits started all this. Force the public to buy what only you can supply.

Why would anyone want 9mm? That's the most useless caliber anyone ever dreamed up.

The guys over in Iraq say if you shoot someone with a 9mm, all you do is pi$$ them off. Nail them with a good old .45 and they're down.
