Another Dodge question

Thanks for the help with the pto question guys. I dont know very much about what will swap on Dodge. I want to take a 383 out of a 1968 Coronet and put in my 1980 Power Wagon. The Power Wagon has a 360 with a 4 speed manual trans, will the trans bolt to the 383? Will the 383 set in the Power Wagon without major modification? I do realize that I will need to change the oil pan and pickup tube, but is that going to be the least of my worries? Thanks for the help.

You will have to change the bell housing on your transmission and your motor mounts from car to truck for the 383, My brother is doing the same thing but his is a 318 instead of a 360, hence the 360 and the 318 are the smae block, in a 74 shortbox 2wd. He bought a bell housing from ebay, paid like $250.00 for it. we are having troubles finding the truck motor mounts though, I think I may be able to talk to my local junk man I am sure he has something. You could try to find all the parts from a pickup that had a 440 in it - the big block chryslers will all bolt in the same. But the 383 will definately not bolt to your 360 bell housing. Also check to make sure the water outlets "radiator hoses" are on the same sides of the engine - the radiators may be different but I can't remember for shure?! I used to know but my mind is blurrier than it used to be.
You are going to be in for a lot of work for a gain of only 23 cubic inches. If you are not worried about fuel economy you might as well go for a 440 since it will be the same amount of work.

I put a 440 in my 79 Power wagon,,,replaced the 360 that was in it . For manual trans you'll need to change Bell housing . Big and small block mopars don't interchange. Also need motor mounts, and Ram horn exhaust manifolds ,from big block truck . Pain to find and ,,expensive!!
I have a 78 power wagon with 400 in it , body pretty rough , but ,,has most everythign you need ,but it is automatic trans. Make you heck of deal on it ,also lots of other Mopar parts . Nice sixpack setup complete to really set off that bigblock !!!!!

put 78 440 in 83 had to have manifolds for pickup,
motor mounts w/block adapters, hi mount power steering pump, (some pumps are metric hoses however pump would fit in other bracket) and a belt idler for fan belt also some pulley swaps.
