Another joke...

My uncles were Allis people but I've been green and yellow since I was a little boy. I used to root for Green Bay just because of their colors. My uncle told me this when I was about 4 or 5...."Do you know why John Deere's are painted green and yellow? It's so they can hide in the corn patch and watch all the other tractors do the work." I never thought up a good enough one to get him back.

And Farmalls are red so you can find the parts when they fall off. How do you double the value of a Farmall? Fill the gas tank!

When I was about 5, I heard a farmer say you could pi$$ on the ground and an Allis Chalmers would get stuck in it. That was about 65 years ago and I still remember his saying it.Its still funny.

When AC introduced the 7000 series tractor they sold them a tractor you bought for a life time, that you would never want to trade it off. But what the 7000 series owners found out is yes indeed then did buy a tractor for a life time because they couldn't get rid of it;)
chucky

Okay, guys, I have a J-D now but used to own an Allis WD, so I have to step in here with just a little bit of good humored defense. The one thing I had to be careful about with my WD was when I was plowing. If I sank the plow, the tractor would never stall and would stand right up on it back legs and keep digging. Doesn't sound much like being stuck on a slick spot to me! Incidentally, my dad used a WD-45 for several years and worked it half to death. Then have a brother-in-law who got fed up with his J-D and traded it for an Allis that would out work the Deere any day. So I am green now, but go easy on the orange, cuz they gots some hutzpa!
