While working with the City of Garretson, SD, we came across a deed to some property the City purchased in 1957. There was a letter to J I Case requesting additional information relating to the release of a mortgage on the property from 1955. It seems that the property owner, Heesch Implement, had mortgaged it to J I Case. According to the documents, Heesch Implement was a dealer for J I Case at the time. Do you have it? (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

do you have spencer implements in Athens,Al.?They were in buisness from the 1930's until the merger.I have the first DC they sold after world war 2. Thanks,Roger Vining

Another old dealer was Kixmiller Imp. Sales, Freelandville, IN. In business from the 50"s to just after the Tenneco buy. They gave it up when they were told to stay a dealer they would have to move eight miles to hwy. 41 They did purchase some ground there but never made the move.

Reinhardt Wolfe J. I. Case Tractor and Implements, La Grange, Texas Don't know the opening date but had to be the early 40s, late 30s. Sold to Brandt Bros. in the mid 70s who closed in the 80s.

S & R Machinery in Chehalis, Washington- Case and David Brown, later added Ford and I think, New Holland equipment. Earl Rosseau was the owner. Started up in the early 70's, only lasted about 10 years. Got quite a few tractors out into the area during that time, but big contraction of farming in this area in early to mid '80's did in everybody but the JD dealer.

Mike, I have a bunch of cousins that live in the Kelso/Longview/Castle Rock/Vader area. I make it out there about once a year for a long weekend. How far are you from Chehalis? Randy

Thanks everyone! I am hoping to retire from my business in January and really get down to writing the Case dealer book. Don

I worked for Reddish Brothers in Lincoln, NE in 1982-1983 or 84. Somewhere in that time period, Case Power and Equipment bought them out and it became a company store. If you want more info, I will tell you what I can remember. Just email me. DOUG

If you are looking for old case dealers here are two...Hossick Imp. from the war years the fortys into the early fifty"s. than Miller Imp. from than to the middle seventy"s. Here in Sidney NE.Than Case factory store from Scottsbluff bought them out and now is Horizion West Imp. of Scottsbluff,Sidney Ne and Torrington Wy.

Hess Brothers in Foraker, IN. I believe they sold to Archbold Equipment around the time of the IH buyout/merger and I believe Mulders (sp?) in Schoolcraft MI was a Case dealer too where my 730 came from. Later switched to Ford/NH and Kubota. Sold out about 5/6 years ago and new owners didn't survive 5 years (or they moved).

In the fiftys and sixties my dad bought several tractors {SC,430,500,730} from Roy Hunt Tractor in Louisville Ky. They are still open and sell construction equipment now and have a nice web site.
