so what is this one?

The engine is ford, the rear fenders are ford and the front axel looks like ford. I would say it is a ford NAA with Case tin and a belly mower. I do not know way someone would put Case tin on a ford tractor but I have seen stranger things done.

That is the most clear cut case of someone wanting a Case and getting stuck with one of those little Fords.... They even had to put bigger engine in it to get it close to the power of a Case!! ;)

That little fella would be my 200 HP redneck lawn mower. It started as a TO-20 Ferguson that I built a 6 1/2' hydraulic drive belly mower under about 30 years ago. Some time in the 90's the Z120 continental block cracked between the sleeves both top and bottom. Since I could not find a replacement block, and it was quite short on snort I slipped the 5 bolt 289 V8 in that had been sitting in the corner of the shop. On hot days the little Fergie radiator had trouble cooling so a couple years later it got the hood, grille, and radiator from a long nose 930 diesel that had been retired to the parts row. The transmission gears were a little fast when the mowing chores took a back seat to more important farm duties and the grass got bigger than ideal so it acquired an over/under Sherman triple range transmission about 10 years ago. Now it goes slow enough to mow the taller grass, and for you tractor drive fans it cruises down the road at a good 50 MPH. Hydraulics have been upgraded to use the available HP. It cuts my 12 acre lawn in about 2 1/2 hours. At last calculation it has mowed well over 5000 acres. I have thought about painting it up nice in pretty Case colors, but that would not make it run any better, and the scratches from the tree branches would really HURT!! Hope this answers a few of the questions. DK

Wow, that sounds like a lot of work, but you ended up with a crazy and awesome little machine. Very impressive. Did everything fit together pretty well, or did you have to make a lot of modifications?
