another what's it worth ?

I've looked on the internet and had no luck trying to find the answer myself. I know someone will say it's worth what someone will pay and that's not the answer i'm looking for. What is a fair price for a magneto off the 2n wartime engine? Or what would you expect to pay for such an item. Thanks

$40 to a friend -hundreds to a rich stranger on eBay. The way I price parts is by where they are going, such as whether the buyer is going to put them on an inflated price tractor they're going to sell, or to the neighbor who needs the part to get his tractor running. If it's going to a museum piece, to a member here, and they knew I just bought loads for less than $2000, I'd probably send it to them for the price of shipping????? But, that's just me

In general, and with some exceptions, magnetos do not sell well.

This is not to say that there might not be some restorer somewhere looking for this particular one.

If you are looking for maximum price, ebay is likely your best option.

Lisa K ,Is it a hot magneto complete with the 90% angle drive? The angle drive is the part thats hard to find.Complete with a good, hot mag it should be worth two to three hundred.

Lisa, do you happen to have a hot mag with the angle drive that you are willing to part with???? I am putting my 43 2n back to the original wartime model and am in the market for the mag. I don't need it to turn around and sell this tractor I just want to make it the way it was in 43 and the mag is a pretty hard item to find. Please let me know... Tom...

I know John Deere magnetos used to be worth more than John Deere tractors without magnetos!

I'm sorry I can't help you! I would check completed auctions on EBay or Email John Smith at Smiths old Ford tractors.

Cameron and her mother had a yard sale, here.

I really lucked out..........got some solid info. and artwork.

I tried to purchase Cameron's tractor, however, I couldn't afford it, right now.

John stop messing with me! I don't get yet what your getting at but just because I'm a woman don't mean u can mess with me. I take great pride in being one of the few women that have any knowledge with n tractors or that even give a rats butt about them.
