What is NOT shown is the connecting mechanism on the back side for hooking up a small electric motor OR a full blown Chrysler HEMI to this Gee-Haw Mechanical Whimsidoodle.

That's my best guess...

Saw it at a show in central MN. Fractional hp motor drives it. Everything turns, accomplishes nothing, but amusing. Multiple types of drives. Someone must have spent a lot of time in salvage yards, surplus stores, etc. Picture really doesn"t do it justice.
 
That is the very first production model of a "GIZMO" built by the Gizmo Thingamajig manf. co. Circa 1927.
 
It"s a steam powered tax collector. There"s a little slot where you put your tax money in, then it fires right up and out the other end comes.....uh.....ummm.....
