I haven't driven this 8n except on and off the trailer bringing it ( her?) home.Needed the oil pan off to look at the rings. Needed the oil out first! The blinken square nut on the oil plug was rounded of in such a way that the wrenches just slid down.Thought I could get a bite in the edge of the plug itself( not the nut) but that didnot work either. After grinding the nut back to square,I was ready to go.Blinken wrench turned, but a bit of the corner came off. Welded the corner back on. Wrench finally turned the nut! Unfortunatly, it spun out of the plug, allowing the oil a fee pass down my arm on onto the floor. My catch pan was so many tools away I had to stand up to go fetch it, making sure that the floor was a big goooy mess.
Then I still had the stuck plug in the oil pan. The winning tool was my trusty chisle and BFH.Had to strike the edge of the plug many times--the cast iron would just tear away.Eventually the thing turned and I unscrewed the remains.
Looked over to old uncle hugo the parts tractor and unscrewed the plug from his cracked block
engine.Came right out.
THe broken plug still has the gasket on it.
The previous owner probebly changed the oil with some fancy tool I dont have!
