Any tips on priming a Allis HD6

Got a newer motor installed in my dozer. It is a Budda 344 with direct injection. I have presurized fuel up to the hose leaving the fuel filter housing and a very small amount at the injector lines at the base where they connect to go up towards the injectors. I have cracked the injectors and cranked the motor but still nothing. I have hit it with starter fluid and it fires but still wil not catch. Any suggestions. Thanks Tom

This may be a stupid question( And please dont shoot the messanger,LOL) But you don't have the fuel stop at the injector pump adjusted wrong do you?

Honestly I don't know. I am not sure how or exactly what you are referring to. I swapped out a motor as I cooked mine and just swapped the entire motor and fuel system out. The guy I got it from said it ran good when he pulled it out. Any details you can shed light on about this wil help. Thanks Tom

I'm not sure on your model. But most injector pumps have a lever that attaches to a cable that shuts the fuel off to the injectors so the engine stops running when you pull the cable. its called a fuel stop .some even have a electric solinoid on the pump ( Newer units) that does the same.If the leaver or solinod is in the off position you can prime for 10 years and not get any fuel past the pump. I would talk to a allis mechanic and they can tell you exactly were it is and how to adjust it.Maybe 1 of these owners on here can open ther book for you and shead some light?? LOL

OK got ya yes I have check the shut off and made sure it was in the open posistion. I have not taken it apart (that was my next step as I have done everything else I can think of)

well, if you have fuel to the pump and not beyond, either the fuel stop is on or engaged, the plumbing is wrong or something is clogged.

Check the the timing on the pump,i think the correct timing is 21 degrees BTDC but not sure as it depends on the type of pump.If you got any probs you can email me direct at [email protected] as i do have a manual.
