Any vets here

Louisiana Army National Guard 1985-1997. Active Duty Army 1997 - 2023. Served on six of the seven continents, OIF, OEF, Balkans, etc. Jumped from about 30 perfectly good aircraft.
 
Active duty Air Force 2020-2024; WV Air Guard 2024-Present. Aircraft maintenance officer. Got to work at the base museum and worked on B-25s, C-47s, and a lot of other historical aircraft, in addition to the modern C-130J, MC-130J, AC-130J, and CV-22s.
 
Army 1SG, Infantry retired. Drafted 1966, two weeks after President Kennedy exempted married men from the draft. Retired 1992. This is a picture of the Vietnam Wall at Truth or consequences NM.
This was the first year I missed visiting the Veterans memorial on our courthouse square. vacation 2005 073.jpg A combination of my age/health and a cold windy day kept me home.
 
USAF, 1983 to 1997 active duty, Desert Shield and Desert Storm with the Flying Tigers, two "free" trips to the middle east, 2000 to 2006 USAF Reserves with the 43rd Flying Training Squadron, Columbus, MS.
 
We went to Providence Rhode Island last Friday to witness our daughter graduate from officer development school! She is a lieutenant JG in the nurses corps and just today arrived at San Diego!

Most of them didn't even have a mention of Veterans Day.

Is it something about old tractors? Rural life? Home spun values? Something else?
