the ESCO "E-Z Way" truck tire changer listed in the Northern catalog??? They make it sound like the tires nearly change themselves! If it works half as well as they make it sound, it would be worth the $329 dollar price of admission. I need to change a whole bunch of tires and am open to any and all suggestions! Thanks! ...D

Looks a lot like what the guy used when I hired the local tire shop to put me on a used truck tire for my wagon. Don't kid yourself, it still takes some muscle to run 'em. And he showed me that for the last step in putting the tire over the bead an extra flat iron works well to 'shoehorn' it on there.

Do you have one of those air cannons to seat the bead? They look like an air tank with about a 3-inch pipe sticking out one side. Make a big racket when you open the valve. If I had to do it more than twice I'd invest in one of those.

I saw that set up sell at an auction here last month. It brought 300. couple of young boys demonstrated it and it looked slick. Agree with Dan, you are going to need a bead blaster to shoot air in. The old ether trick is for the birds (and the foolish)

As an extire shop owner, save your money. There are other brands of tools that are a lot easier to use. If your are doing a lot of 22.5 or 24.5's, maybe. Get yourself some GOOD tire lube, not dish soap or grease, 2--36" tire bars, a duck bill tire hammer, long handled, and go to it.

What size tires are you changing?

If the big tractor trailer tires get the "Gather" tire changer tools.

The "12880 E Bead Saver", You will never go back to any thing else that's manual after using these tools.
You can have a 11.00-22.5 off the rim in less than two minutes once the air is all out.
