Found a box in garage. Out plaque says Allis-Chalmers MFG CO ERECTION DEPT MILWAUKEE,WIS MP 674. Inside lid has instructions beginning...Instructions for Handling Indicators. The lengthy instructions follow. Small, removable tray in top with bottom filled with numberous tools. Small bottle with label "American Steam Gauge and Valve Mfg. Co". Anyone know what this is?

The bottle of fluid may be a key to what this was for.
Many smaller pressures were and still are measured with U tube Manometers which had fluid in them to measure pressure or vacuum in inches of water. Could be this kit was for serviceing these monometers or something that used monometers such HV equipment or boilers.

A "Steam Engine INDICATOR" is a device for
setting the valves on a Steam engine..Railroad,
or Industrial. Valves could be set for power
or speed, depending on where they opened or
closed. Allis-Chalmers made some of the biggest
industrial steam engines in the world, as well
as electric power plant turbines,Turbines for
Nuclear plants, and the generators at Hoover Dam.
