If you go down the page you will see that I told you so. I did not go because it was a joke last year. Making all the pullers that supported this pull over the years pull in a sand pit. I will say it again, when Kevin Franklin and his wife ran the pull it was fun, now what do you have!
Arden was one of those pulls that you waited for at the end of the year, not any more.
When they pulled on the indoor clay track you needed a little more power and set up prep to get to the top, in the sand pit it comes down to who can dig the deepest hole in the sand manure.
I told them last year this would kill the pull, but seemed to be more interested in the vendors
that would be under the roof,greed will kill a pull..

Well it wasnt that bad. After the track dryed out at about 12 and they graded about 6 inches off the top. I got two 1st with the WC 3500 and 4000 and i left the 13.6 tires on it . The B didnt make it with my new engine still not done with it. Didnt see you or lori there i at least thought yall would come and watch. The only Hickory native I saw was Casey Iverson. Did someone purchase the little pink?

Pink tractor is still for sale, we just stayed home and made about 8 gal. of molasses. I have not asked anyone about the turn out, but would suspect it was thin. Congrats on the 3500 and 4000, how many tractors in the classes. I guess if the pink machine doesn't sell, I will just sell the parts. Engine, 2 Speed, great set of 28" 13.6 pulling tires, and so forth.

I assume the "Allis Boy" was the black AC in the 3500 & 4000 class. Was this a "farm stock", "antique" or a "classic" class? Whatever it was everyone in both classes was on the gas hard from the get go but the black Allis was barely above idle until half track. Were these "stock" tractors? I am not a puller but have been watching pulls for 40 years.

101, You might want to wait to part out the Pink tractor, Scrap Iron prices are way down, they should come up after the election is over

Amen 101! I think they are finally seeing the ramifications of "selling out" the tractor pullers. No lawn mower pull on Friday night and about 1/2 the turn out on Saturday of what it use to be. Looks like they would see how important the tractor pullers are to the gate in take and the show it self.

Half the turn out WOW! So that means half the competition, so how many tractors in the 3500, 4000, and 4500 classes? The first thing you need to have is a good pulling track, second thing you need is good pullers, third thing would have good folks running the pull that have no political influence, then you got yourself a real tractor pull! Kevin Franklin had all that and then some.

We didn't go this year because last years pull was outside and it was not a good track. No reason to travel from TN to play in the sand. We enjoyed going to Arden when the pull was inside where the tractors could get some traction.

Yes I have the black allis chalmers WC. There was maybe 10 in 3500 or something close to that and about 15 in the 4000. To the fella from TN my tractor retains a stock block and where we pull as long as it has a stock block or a factory replacement, stock head, manifold, and updraft carb, you can do anything to the inside that you want. There was a 4mph speed limit and i couldnt get on the gas until my tires started spinning.
