Hi does anybody know a good solution to getting the wheel hub off the shaft on the transmission? It has a half moon thing and I have tried heating, pb blaster, hammers, even bigger hammer, all of the pullers that i have available and still wont budge..

do not know the details of your tiller but I have fought same battle with troybilt Horses, they have a pin driven thru the wheel/axle to secure the wheel, that has to come out first, there has to be some sort of retainer so please make sure you have that out

also, you have to be careful not to destroy guts of trany in the process

if there is space on the shaft between inside of the wheel and trany casting, try driving the wheel further on to break the rust grip, pipe or old socket that just fits over shaft works good with LARGE hammer, once you get it moving at all you are on your way

on Troybilt, the shaft stops just inside the wheel hub, you can weld a large fine thread nut to wheel and use a bolt to apply pressure direct to where you need it while wailing on bolt with LARGE hammer

if you can get another wheel or can live with holes in your wheel AND shaft sticks out a bit, drill some holes in the wheel as close to the shaft as you can, make a puller using all-thread and some stiff plate, wail on the plate with a LARGE hammer

PB Blaster and heat are usually required along with much blue language

let me know what happens, sometimes they will not come off and you have to use a sawzall on the hub
