As good as it gets?

I have an M that dynoed at 65hp. In the 6000 class, my front comes up 10 inches or so at the end, and I simply run out of power(1st gear). My hitch is 18" and out past the radius of the tires. Would dropping the hitch an inch or so help to keep my tires spinning, or would it hurt me worse in the long run? On a good day, I sneak into the top 3, but looking to do a bit better. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

With a long drawbar such as yours, any time the front comes up the hitch point drops excessively. This requires tremendous power to overcome. Try getting the hitch point closer to the axle. Most M farmalls pull well with the clevis pinned to the horseshoe.

So how far is the hitch point for the chain behind the end of the pto shaft? We are required to be not closer than 14 inches to the pto shaft.
Do you mean the hitch point is 18 inches behind the center of the axle or behind the furtherest vertical point of the back of the rear tire? Just trying to understand to compare.

With 65 hp you're running out of power in 1st gear @ 6000 lbs. weight? What are you using for tires, 20.8-38 radials???? I'd love it if I could figure out how to eliminate some of the wheelspin I have with a little over 50hp @ 6500 lbs.....and I've got 14.9-38's.
