Was at an auction last Friday, a NH 258 rake that was in good shape and had been shedded went for $2000.00. they nornally go for 300.00 to 800.00.

Dont know where Your at; But in Indiana that $2000 may be a good price. Just looked at external_link. They were showing 52 #258"s, & Over 1/2 of them were over $2K. Most that were that, or under didnt look that geeat! One guy wanted $9,9??.00 for a 2000 model. I would say that was a type-O! New ones dont list for close to that! Hope he"s not scamming!!! Scott

2000 sounds like a good price to me if it's in good shape. Around here a piece of junk goes for 1200-1500. Some of these guys who have owned them have never owned a grease gun apparently. .....

If you can buy 'em for $300 (even for $800), gather up about a dozen of 'em, get ahold of me, and we'll make a small fortune. You can't touch one here in Kentucky for less than $1800. Junkers sell for more than $800.

$2000 is average price for a 258, your thinking 300-800 for a 56 which is older and a foot shorter and less teeth. I gave $750 for my 258 from a "friend" and have had to put over $1500 in parts into it. A cheap rake isn't always a good rake.
