Autolite 437

I asked for 437's and got 85's, supposed to be the same ?

Zack......quit second guessing, AutoLite 437's are "THE PLUG". (gap = 0.025") INSIST, don't take NO or 85's for an answer. They are better than Champion H-12. Understand? ........Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister

Lighten up Dell, any plug will work. Don't matter if you gotta hoss 'em into the holes with a four foot cheater, if they're too long and the piston smashes 'em flat just pull 'em out and grind off the center post and regap 'em.

Seriously, listen to Dell. Other "will-fit" or "we'll MAKE 'em fit" plugs will work long enough to get you in the worst possible situation then crap on you. 437's seem to be custom made for a Ford flathead 4 front mount. Parts houses who know their "chit" (good substitution, Hobo!) will stock them if there's an N in the county.

....Of course, good parts houses have counter help that knows what them big books are for too. And the pitchers in 'em ain't for coloring!

I found them at advance auto. I cant tell the difference between them an the 85's, tractor starts the same. The kid behind the counter at autozone said the 85s are the same..

Eitherway, both are way better than champion h10.

Autolite 85 IS NOT the same as Autolite 437. The kid behind the parts counter is WRONG. Autolite 85 IS a resistor plug with a different heat range and a slightly shorter reach than the 437. The 437 is NOT a resistor plug. As the others have said, for best results on your N, use the 437.

You dont want a resistor plug in your tractor and you sure dont want H12s.I wont go into the problem of mexico made Champions breaking off in cylinder heads.
