I know there is a great deal of info on this topic, but the current search helper doesn't get me much. Perhaps someone can catch me up! Just removed from both my frontmount 8N's the NGK 3112's I installed about ten years ago. Just beginning to hear some misses. One 8N has EI, the other has points. Both start fine, the EI 8N seems to have more power and uses gasoline more frugally, but there are a lot of variables that could affect that..., including my imagination. I switched to NGK's last time because the Champion H-10's corroded on the external surfaces, and I had read then that Champions had deteriorated in quality. I ordered 8 from YT, and got RH18Y's. They came in a big box with a left side lift fork, and all 5 of the 8 were out loose from their little boxes (no 4 or 8 plug box) and had obviously bounched around a lot. All had to be reset, to .025, some with the grounded electrode bent almost to the center electrode. Even the upper lift fork was misaligned and had to be engineered. Shipping must have been rough or handling/packing not so good. I don't know if these are the current "best" plugs, but I'd like your experience with this last generation of plugs. Can I still get the NGK's?
