Backfire

Yesterday's Tractor Forums
The intake/exhaust manifold, muffler and exhaust pipes have been replaced on a Ford 800. This has solved the exhaust leaks, however the Tractor now backfires (loud shot) when started. What could be causing this? How can it be corrected?
