finally got snow and the 9n is down from a problem i missed during restoration, apparently mice will build a nest of fiberglass insultaion in the gas tank. new 2 me. any ideas on how to fix this easily?

Jake.......fiberglass chopsticks??? HOW did you fergitt to replace yer gascap??? I would NOT worry too much as fiberglass don't "dissolve" in gasoline and it won't "rust" and clog yer filters either. ......Dell

I've had mice build nests in the shrouds of different air cooled engines. I always just cut a coat hanger into a hook and fished out all I could. Every now and then one would expire in there. In your case maybe you'll have some bio-fuel there (lol).
Wash it out if it ever warms up.

drain the gas out of the tank, pull the tank and fish/shake it out. Smaller stuff you can blow out with an air comp...DO NOT use a vacuum to suck it out as the fumes could ignite from the sparks generated by the vac motor.

sorry to break yer heart dell. but that is the problem, they built a big eunf nest that the fiberglass is clogging the gas line as it drains. and i had the tank off as i was restoring it, the cap that was on it was an old lockable type that was removed with a drill and pair of pliers. the key was missing.

At least they didn't build a nest in your well head casing and finally clog the well pump up with their droppings and nesting material. That happened to me last winter, my wife still won't drink the water...
