bad switch?

I have a 1968 Wheel horse commando 8. I recently had all new wires and a new coil put on it. It starts and run fine, but when you cut the switch off, the engine keeps running. The only way to shut it off is pull the plug wire, and my fingers are getting numb from too much of that.

What do you think? Bad switch? I replaced that also a few months ago.

Thanks

If you have battery ignition your switch may not
be stopping the battery voltage to the coil.
You can check this with your volt meter at the switch to see if voltage is present to the coil
when the switch is in the off position.

If its an armature (coil) your switch may not
be grounding out the armature. You should be able to check that with multi-meter set on Ohm's.

I should add that at first, right after I installed the new switch, coil, wires, etc., Everything worked fine. Then about the third time I cranked it I couldn"t cut it off.
