belly mount sickle mower question

just wondering ... theres a sale coming up with kosh ? mid mount sickl mower off a H farmall , will this also fit the C ? or did they use a smaller unit or differnt ?
as im not a H person dont own one & dont want one...

Dad bought one new in the late 60's and mounted it on a B Farmall. Still works today. Dad attached the mower to the center pivot for the swinging drawbar and the front of the mower to mounting holes in front of the battery using some 4 in. wide flat iron.

I have no knowledge of the particulars of the unit you're looking at. But I think you'd have to be a really good hand at geometry and welding both to modify the H rigging to fit it up to a C.

I have been using a Kosch belly mount sickle mower on a Farmall C for forty years. Kosch built two basic mower units, a long shaft an a short shaft. Then they made mounting brackets for most of the tractors that were common at the time. I am sure that both the H and C used the same main unit, but the mounts were different. Usually when you find a used unit, unless it is still mounted, some or all of the mounting brackets are missing. The mower itself is about bulletproof, it uses IHC cutting parts which are still available from CaseIH.

If you would like pictures, post back and I will see what I can do.
