Best PS lube for 65

It pains me to post for this info but.... mine is a Barnes pump on a gasser. Is DEXRON III/ MERCON suitable to use and what would be the best fluid to use? Yes, I have owners manual but it is out of State and maybe out of date.

Always go with what the manual says. I never use auto trany fluid, use Perma-Tran hydraulic fluid unless otherwise noted.

I believe the manual calls for Type A. I believe the modern equivalent is Dextron III. HTH

A service bulletin we received from Massey Ferguson sometime in the late 1970s when the Dextron oils was first introduced in place of the old type A transmission fluid said to replace it with the M1129A or M1127 used in the transmission both of those oils were replaced Permatrans 3 it when on to say the seals that Massey used was not compatible with Dextron oils
