I know its been up here many times but can not find it may be some new ideas also is the wheel you see on some under the tractor a speedo Looking for something that works good inside and out. Thanks

I haven"t seen the guys with good speed-o-meters do any better than the ones without. Just try to feel it. I have seen the ones with them crowd their limits and get disqualified. I have been disqualified without one but, I had felt the tractor regain traction and I wouldn"t let up. Vic

The key thing with any sensor is update rate and resolution. Most hand held gps are slow to respond. Depends on the radar box on radar systems too. The amount of on the go averaging to smooth out data outliers reduces the ability to obtain instantaneous velocity. Speed wheels with cheap displays do the same. If you use a shaft encoder with a good box you can get a good enough signal to input in to your stock appearing electronic governor. Vic is right that humans cannot ride the edge.......but a computer can........

A readout at the end of the track from the sled. Otherwise, it's too tough to look at a gauge or display on the dash during a hook when you've got other things going on. I agree with Vic, you just gotta feel it.

If money is no object get a good one like they use on spayers and other farm equipment.I am like Vic i have seen them get DQ to but dont understand why but I dont have one.If you listen to sound of motor till you strat spining and get after it like most of us poor people you usually get by OK.
