Best stock puller

What is the best puller in the 4,000 weight class? It seems like Oliver wins every year at the local pull sometimes Ford row-crop tractors..

Well if Olivers win all the time then you already know the answer. I have one that would fit that bill that I have been tring to sell at this time. Its an Oliver 77 and its looks ruff but runs well

i pull a massey 33 [3] pulls this year 2 first one sec.. 12 to 16 tractors in class. get some road sharp tires and have some pulling fun and MAKE it fun

MM U's make a good puller, they are generally cheap and you can do a lot to build them up and still have a cheap puller. I had a guy give me one the other day. Has been sitting in a pit silo for 13 years, I went and looked at it Sunday just knew the engine would be stuck and low and behold I grabbed the fan and the crank turned as if it was running just yesterday. It will need a little work but i plan to make it a puller for next season.

allis chalmers seem to never spin out in that class around here. I'm serious, an A or B johnny would be spinning out before an allis would even pick up the front end.

A few years ago, my sons pulled several tractors, our most competive in the near stock condition was a 1938 Massey Super 101, One night I saw it win the 3600, 4500,5500 and the 7000 pound classes.

A "stock' A JD cant even get in the 4000# and the "B" if "late styled" barely fits with no added weights. The AC's are light enough to add quite a bit of weight right where you need it and that makes them a better candidate for this class.If you jump to 4500 or 5000 then it's a little different story. Now you can add weight to the JD's and with their low rpm / high torque will overcome the AC. We're talking bone stock here. A stock 3500# AC weighted to 4500 or so will run out of power before the 4000# JD "B" weighted to 4500 will. 4000# or under , AC is your tractor. Over #4000 either JD or Farmall.

Right now I have a 41' Farmall H, with distillate head and carb. skinny rear tires, no weights. It has no compression in one cyl and low in another. It weighs 3918 with me on it. What can I do to win my class!?! Other than an overhaul.

Nobody around here (ohio) pulls stock even though it is a stock class.
