Funny. I have been using a 1 inch belt belt sander for 20 years as a butcher to sharpen my knives and never new I was wrecking them. I guess that is why I had to buy new ones once a year.Which model? Fixed or folding blade or multitool? I carry folding in a front pants pocket. Tried carrying one in the leg side slot pocket, lost the knife while doing tractor work.
BTW, I went to the leatheman website. They offer free sharpening for life when the knife is sent to them. There website shows a knife being sharpened on a belt sander__, That's about the best way to ruin a good knife.

In your trade it's completely different than, say wood carving where a very sharp smooth edge is necessary. That website shows a man sharpening a pocket knife on a belt-sander.Funny.
