BIG antique tractor for sale!

One that nice or better , cold air and had pto and 3 point hitch, good rubber all the way around , brought $6000.00 here a auction last week. That one might bring that up there but not around here in Tennessee. Auctioneer announced that it had a Jasper rebuilt cat engine less than 200 hrs ago.

The 15/1800 series don?t have the best reputation amoung 4 wheel drive tractors. They were a mediocre copy of the Versatile 145. We farmed with a 1800 as our first 4 wheel drive tractor back in the 70s. It did all right but did have some stupid designs like running the hydraulic pumps off the driveline. It got traded in for a real tractor, a Versatile 950.

Yea ever time we would put a belt for those pumps on we would put a second one on and tie it up out of the way. Saved a lot of work the next time. I am like you they were not that great of a tractor.

(quoted from post at 05:50:24 04/18/19) Way to new to be called an antique.

Wouldn't say way too new.....needs to be 50 for most things to be considered an antique and 20 to be a "classic".

The 1800 came out in 1971. So the OP isn?t too far off calling
them antique going by YOUR 50 year definition.

That is a crazy price. Several guys here bought them new. Most were sitting in fence rows within 5 years. Their reputation sucks. My FIL actually helped build them.

Anything newer than 1960 should not be considered an antique. Just an older tractor. And a lot of people would consider anything 1980 up being a new tractor.
