That?s from the wrong era. I think Ford for that era
was either a TW something or a Country
something.
I forgot what they were now.

had one like in second pic then went to a steiger, I loved that unit, trying to find one I can buy back, I had the one they called the cougar

The IH ad says our 4366 delivers the work power needed for high speed tillage. That may have been the dawn of the age of high speed farming. Seems if you don't practice high speed farming you are out of sync with the neighbors or somehow your tillage tools won't work right. Do we still hear or read ads today 40 yrs later saying you need the power to do high speed farming. Does a tillage tool work at 8 mph then not work at 4.5 mph?

Fords first four wheel drives were Steiger then versatile. That?s why after the case new Holland merger you saw the versatile name again because they had to sell the versatile name off do to monopoly laws

Some implements definitely work better at higher speeds but remember we?re talking about 4.5 to 5.5 mph not 6 ,8 or 10 mph

Versatile was a Canadian company. When it was first for sale, John Deere was looking at it, but the Justice Dept. wouldn't approve it, because it would have given them too large a share of the market. Then, when Ford got involved, Buhler protested with the Canadian govt., claiming it should remain Canadian controlled. In reality, he was wanting to eliminate any competition to his bid for it, so he could get it for a song. When Fiat needed to sell it in order to purchase CaseIH, Buhler finally bought it. After making a big deal about Versatile being "Canadian owned and controlled", he sold a majority interest in his company to the Russians, with the understanding he would remain in control. He didn't!

Yes there are a lot of high speed tillage tools available now . There are several horsch jokers around here and they are joke I seen a guy trying to work down a piece of ground that had some green volunteer barley growing in it he?d hit it about 4 different directions and he still hadn?t done anything. There are a few lemken disks around and they seem to do an alright job I?m still not that impressed with them compared to a regular implement in our soil

We toured the Steiger plant in Fargo 45 years ago. As I recall, Steiger made lime, blue, red and green tractors. The Lime and Blue were the same tractor, different paint. The red ones had IH engines and the Green ones had Deere engines and transmissions. The guy doing the tour said to stay away from the red ones and far away from the green ones! That's how I remember it!
