Biggest Puller Engine Ever

To date, what is the biggest (cubes) engine ever built in antique tractor pulling say up thru 7500# class? Allis A? Moline GVI? Deere R?

Always heard the G VI minnes were the biggest, don't know for sure though. Anybody care to tell how big they are being built.

Don"t know the biggest, but have hear 1200ci MMs bandied about frequently. I know of a 1027ci Case 600 de facto.

Yeah they can start out with the 800 motor. I've heard they can get 1400 cubic inches, but that is just rumors. It might be true though.

In My Area we have a G VI that is 1611 CI. He calls it WAY TO MINNE. It is unstoppable it won the light pro stock class against the NTPA boys. Unbeivlable! 75,000 get in the motor

The biggest possible MM 6cyl engine could be 1472 cubes. If one is bigger, it would be fabricated blocks and highly modified HD800 crankcase. 1090 cubes is a common set-up with 5.75 X 7 bore and stroke. I was wondering if a big Deere 830 or Case 600 could be bigger. Or maybe another oddball like WK-40, WD-9, or Allis A. Moline had a HD800, International had a Red Diamond 500, and Allis had some oil field power unit engine that could go in an A. I like the biggies, but the smaller tractors are more convenient. Thanks for all the info guys.

I'm not going to argue whether FenceRowM is telling the truth or not. For the heck of it, I started adding numbers in my head if you were to build an all out 6 cyl MM and I quit counting $$$ north of $50,000; with a lot of small "nickel and dime" items not accounted for.

The types of things I added up for that type of $$ figure were:

Billet SOHC head(gets the camshaft out of the way for more stroke)

Modify crankcase for 7 main bearings

Billet 7 main crankshaft

Billet front timing cover

Solid cast jugs to allow bores to be moved to fit, and to allow headstuds to be moved to fit around the bores.
-OR-
Billet 1 piece jug/cylinder block that bolts to the MM crankcase.

Dry sump oiling system/lines/fittings

Sheetmetal oil pan with outlets to hook up dry sump system.

Crower slipper clutch and steel flywheel

Fuel system (If fuel injected)

Custom fabricated intake/exhaust manifolds

Billet connecting rods and custom pistons

Labor for fitting and clearencing the rotating assy. and screwing the thing together.

This is just a start of a list as to why an engine can cost so much money, not a complete list. $75,000???? Maybe, maybe not.

HD800 jugs can get 6.25 bore with max of about 8" stroke with some custom rods. With solid blocks? Who knows? Not sure if the HD800 crankcase is bigger inside than an HD504, but maybe. 8.25 stroke?

People at the CAFPC meeting Sunday wanted to know who "followersofweber" was. We were picking on Marky again. There was rumors of 14" Rumley pistons in his Farm Stock A.

The biggest MM GVI I think would be Brad Begemen's "Temporary Satisfaction", that thing really hums!! I have heard it was around 1600 CID and don't doubt it! I geuss that could just be rumor though, the only person who knows is himself and maybe he would tell now! The sky is the limit if you have the cash to support it. $$ This is a really interesting topic!

Thats what I was thinking with the 1pc billet cylinder block. I have pictures of a super stock Moline enigne that has the stock crankcase, 1 billet aluminum cylinder block piece, and 3 aluminum heads. The valve covers have "LM" engraved in them, so I am guessing it is a complete Brent Long package.

Stock 1360, I have been thinking about taking her out to 2600 though. :)
