Blacktop tractor pulls

Here in SW Wisconsin we have a blacktop tractor pull in lonely little Blue River. A couple of years ago the sled owner told the organizers of the pull that he was selling out and that there was only two places in WI that still had an Blacktop pull. So the fire dept bought the sled so we can still have a tractor pull. It is one of the only free admission pulls in the area and it draws a huge crowd. The nice part is that they have a local class in 8000# 10000# 12000# 14000# and 16000# all tractors must have PTO, 3 point and hydralics that work and weight must be in stock locations (ie wheel weights on the wheels and suitcase on the front). Local meaning in the school district of Riverdale in which Blue River is located. To me that is tractor pulling at its finest. Are there many Blactop pulls out there or is it a thing of the past? Also I am pulling in the antique pull with a IH 300 in the 6000# and 6500# class what air pressure should I run? I was thinking like 7-8 lbs. The antique pull is on Fri Aug 15 and the Farm pull is on Sat Aug 16 both start at 6pm with registration at 5pm. Hope to see you there.

I just was whatching a pull at a local fair the other weekend that was on cement. It was in New Hampshire. I live in New England.... They had the tractors on a cement pad and a stone boat/or sled with blocks on the back. I saw a JD 4320 pull 37,500 Ibs 2 inches....I don't know if that was good or not? I don't pull ,but it was fun to whatch the out of the field tractor pull.

Are the antique classes only as low as 6000? Are they standard rpm? What is required as far as wheelie bars and drawbar setup? How can I get the rules? It sounds interesting. i am in Dubuque, Iowa.
