Tractor died on me while it was running. It still turns over fine, will run for a second or two with a bump of ether so I am fairly certain it is a fuel issue. It just slowly idled down and cut off. I tried bleeding the the fuel lines, and it all goes per usual, until I get to the top bleed screw on the pump. The bottom bleeder shoots out diesel very well. When I close that one up and open the top, I get hardly a dribble.
I am assuming the top bleeder on the injection pump should have a good amount of diesel coming out when turning the engine over- right? I am thinking internals in the injector are the issue- I am not sure how exactly the fuel gets to the top of the pump- is that the plunger system with the small cylindrical filter screen on the back of the pump?
I rebuilt the pump myself a couple years ago, and had no issues for a few hundred hours of running, until now. I used a rebuild kit from yesterdaystractors site. Could this be the result of poor quality parts? Is there a better place to get them?
