BLOCK HEATER INSTALL

Well, went on lunch today and bought block heater for my case 1370 (see prior posting). Any tricks to getting it on tractor? Thanks for all your advice thus far!!!!!!!

Is it a soft plug heater? If it is take a large punch and drive on inside edge of soft plug. The plug will usually spin so that you can get a hold of the plug with a vicegrip to pull it out. If it goes straight in then a little wrestling with magnet,screwdriver and pliers to get it out. Make sure heater element is pointing the right direction and install as directions in box tell you.

I am assuming you have an external tank type heater. For my Case tractors, i install a pipe tee and nipple in the block drain hole. I then drill and tap a 1/4 inch pipe thread hole in the water manifold with a barb hose fitting to attach the outlet hose from the heater. be sure to attach the inlet hose side to the drain fitting and the top outlet to the water manifold side. The inlet for the heater should be at or below the level of the incoming water... Gene
P.S. You will want to drain the block before you start and be certain the inlet is clear of all debris.. GD

Pretty hard to give you installation advice, when I don't know if it is a tank type, in-hose type, a magnet type, or in the block type? How about telling us what you bought? Tom
