I called Napa today to order a set of blue streak points as you guys had suggested. Did you know that Echlin and Blue Streak merged. Now if you call Napa with the Blue Streak # you get the Echlin or Napa #.
(quoted from post at 21:07:13 08/18/09) "Back in the day" I would only use Echlin ignition in my shop. We had poor experiences with Blue Streak. I ordered a set of points from NAPA today for a customers Corvette because I wanted Echlin. They may have been old stock but they sure were Echlin. I hope the Blue Streak quality fades away and Echlin quality remains whatever the name. The Canadian customer price on the points was $29.95. Ouch!

(quoted from post at 22:35:48 08/18/09) I need to get some points for my 9n and hear a lot of good about blue streak. Can you give me the parts number at NAPA. Also are they cheaper there or off this sight?
Thanks,
G.Bott
(quoted from post at 22:55:47 08/18/09) Thanks for the info soundguy. I take it the standard brand is better than the napa brand. Are there packages where u can buy everything? Or just everything seperate? And are the standard parts available at NAPA?
Thanks,
G.Bott
P.s. Didn't mean to take over the thread
(quoted from post at 11:04:33 08/19/09) Sorry Dunk it appears you did beat SoundGuy to the punch. Thanks for your info too. I don't know why but when I checked the post last night on my phone it didn't show yours. Huh. Go figure???

Times change.(quoted from post at 12:20:13 08/19/09) The older I get the worse my memory gets. Or did I already say that? Back about 1970 I went to an ignition seminar. At the time all "name brand" points were made by 2 manufacturers. Delco and Sorensen.
(quoted from post at 15:52:38 08/19/09) Time wise our posts were made within minutes of each other.. yours a couple minutes first.. however.. i saw the same as the other poster.. IE.. when i made my post your's wasn't displayed yet.. and only later did your post pop up.. otherwise I wouldn't have duplicated your info that was already posted.
Do you post from the modern side? I post from classic.. I've seen some issues from posts between the two sides.. they don't always 'mesh' perfectly.
