Wanting to glue brake lining to the hand brake on a 1928 McCormick-Deering. The new brake lining will be glued to a metal band.
What type of glue do you recommend.
Thanks

Bonding linings is not easy, unless you have the right facilities. Special EXPENSIVE glue, heat and pressure.
I would rivet it. Or have it riveted at a Clutch & Brake shop.

if you cannot find a clutch shop, ask your local auto body shop if they have fuzor or semm structural adhesives. they are used to bond metal to metal and metal to composites. it is as strong as welding. here is a lonk to fuzor 116 adhesive
poke here

On a band type brake I'd really think rivets over glue as that band will be flexing and the glue may crack off.
