i have a mid 90's MF231. great little tractor, but can not get the brakes to work consistently. always seem to hang up so i have to reach down and pull up on the petal to release, and always require a whole lot of pressure to get them to work. i've pulled them apart and lubed them from the petal, through the linkage and all the way inside the drum, and they work better for a bit but once they get wet or a little dirty, they get ineffective. any hints here? can i retro-fit with a hydraulic brake system, and if so, where do i find one?
