breakin the rules....

I was wondering if any aftermarket company or even IH built a 9 bolt hub that would fit an H? Or do all the hubs have to be "made" to work?

Also, On my 44 H I have a gas manifold. It is what I bought it with. The serial number indicates that it was a factory gas model, no extra hole in the hood for the pony tank. Had a guy tell me that it was a 300 gas manifold and if I would try to run Div II this winter it would be against the rules. If this is so, what manifold should I be looking for? The distillate and gas manifolds were different weren't they? If I were to go to IH and get a replacement part, wouldn't the gas one be the one they would set me up with? Thanks.

Dont know about the hubs, but a gas manifold is a gas manifold. If you buy a replacement one it is made to fit a H, super h, 300, and 350 gas motor. If you were so worried about the manifold not being stock, why are you wondering about hubs? you need to cut weight? what do you weigh now?

The reason I ask is because I have welded on hubs now so if I would run div. II I would need to change to bolted (even tho I have heard horror stories about these keys busting out). I wasn't worried about the manifold until that guy commented on it. I thought the only thing I need to change was the hubs, but that guy got me thinking a bit. I dont have the ponies I don't thing to go to div III and I guess I'd rather not show up to the first pull and not be able to enter. this would be my first year on the National circut

I cannot see why a replacement manifold would be illegal.
If your running a SH-450 carb on the H, I can see where there might be a problem, with the carb.
All replacement manifolds for the H, Super H, 300 and 350 row crops all have the enlarged carb flange, with slotted holes to accept both H and M style carbs.

Pull what you Have Now and Try it!! Div 2 you Need a Stock H Carb Too! So if you have a 300 manifold you must have a 300 or M carb!

My Advice is To Pull Div 3 3500lb 3750lb classes With Pressed Whelles You Have on Now, Manifold Ect!

You Now your Tractor Now the way it is so why kno't go with it!

All IH tractors are junk and all IH pullers are cheaters. This thread proves it. Scrap the POS because pulling does not need another fairy cheating on an IH piece of junk.

better have a pretty stout H to pull in div. 3 for it's already populated with strong super C's, 66 Olivers and wc/wd ac's all of which run very good! With all of natpa's bent rules on manifolds I don't see why a gas manifold should be a problem on an H. Go to a well run local pull or a non-natpa winter pull like Sigourney and have more fun.

I see you are still hiding behind a bogus name. How does this thread prove cheating? If anything it proves otherwise. You just must be a sore loser who constantly gets beat by IH tractors, and probably every other color out there. I wouldn't doubt it if you finish last every week. Maybe its the drivers, not the tractors that are better than you. So keep practicing, and chasing the dream. One day you might get lucky and bring home a 3rd.

Hubs off a MM ZA or ZB fit the H axle. Key size is different so you have to mill a piece of stock to make it fit properly.

And what brand of tractor do you pull ? Please post your name , this website is full of cowards that don"t post the correct name.

Take the heat for your statments.

Why are I.H tractors junk ? Are we cheaters because they might have come with T.As.

All brands of tractors have there good and their bad.

I bet you pull in the lawn tractor class with dads old Sears !

"Come on admit it" , you don"t even have a tractor.

that is the trouble with rules everybody reads them different heck at our pulls i am the only one not breaking the rules 2 much

with most clubs d-2 rules have tire size an speed limits,as long as you stay within those guids i dont have a problem with manfold an weld on hubs.the hub are probebly safer anywhay. if you need a place to pull.cone down to southwest oh on oct 10 we would let you pull. we are southern oh ant. tractor pullers
