brother bought a tractor today

I went with my younger brother down to Independence MO today to get a Farmall M that he bought. The engine is a 1949 and stuck, the rest of it is 1940 The IH widefront has a cobbled together steering arm, but is otherwise in good shape with no other cracks or welds. It has two different front hubs too, one is the non-adjustable clamp style, and the other is the 3-bolt adjustable type.

Looks like a peach! Shoulda took some engine juice down with you get a head start on soaking the cylinders. Sloshing around on the return trip would've helped somehow I'm sure. Ya know, that M looks ALOT like my mom's H I bought her, 'cept it's a narrow front. The engine is a '49, but the hood is a '39, and as far as I know the rest of the tractor is a '49. Same shade of rust and everything.
