Buda Forklift

Does anyone know what kind of motor is in this thing? It's a 4 cyl., flathead, runs on lp gas. The distributor shaft does not rotate when cranking the engine. I have no idea why, or even if it's worth fixing. Overall, it's a nice machine, probably dates back into the 50's.

Images would help identify the model, likely a Buda engine !! Jim

If it's a Buda forklift, I would have said that it is a Buda Engine, but I never saw a Buda flathead. Cockshutt used Buda engines in their 30-40 and 50 tractors from 1946 thru 1955 then went to Hercules. Buda was bought out by Allis Chalmers. It is very likely a Continental. Cockshutt used those in the 20 series tractor. Post a picture of the engine and we will see what you have.

Several good pictures of the engine are needed to help identify the engine, that was mentioned in your May 2023 post and again here.

Looks like a Waukesha ICK series engine. Look for an ID plate on the back left corner of the engine, above the starter and behind the oil filler pipe.
