With what model tractors did John Deere start installing buddy or instructor seats. I am looking for another tractor to use on my farm and I would like one that I can have my son with me. He is a special needs child and really likes riding on the tractor but I want something with a nice quiet cab that he would be safe in. Any help would be greatly appreciated and Thank You in advance!

7000 series for sure. I put one in my 7410, wife and kids love it.Lots of leg room in those cabs especially for kids. Not sure if room in 6000 series as I havent got one.

I also would be interested in seeing what others have done for buddy seats. I have a special connection to a couple of nine year old boys who also love to be involved with tractors. One of them is also special needs (CP) and a seat for him or me would be most helpful on my 1010.

You can put one in any 6000 series cab. You can also put one in the 5025 series cab. The manual says it only works on the 24 speed transmission with the electric pto switch but if you bend the pto lever just a little bit you can install it on any 5025 series.

For those who bought them after the fact, did you order from the JD dealership? We have a 7200 that we would like to add one to.
Thanks.
