How do you keep box-elder bugs and ladybugs out of your house? We get one day of 30 degree sunshine and already they start for the season.

I would like to know how to control them as well.

I get the feeling they are in the walls like termites.

Anybody a bug specialist?

Been around here for 4 years now, thick.

Last 2 years I sprayed the outside of the house in the _fall_ before the bugs start nesting, windows & doors around the seams, with Enforcer 360 - I think that's the name, red bottle. Quart or gallon spray bottle. I think Ortho makes a bug spray that works the same way, not sure what theirs is called. Every fall the farm supply & box stores around here bring in pallets of these sprays & have a sale on the bettle killer.

Works great! They pile up dead outside the house. The stuff continues to work for several months, so helps for quite some time.

I would hesitate to spray it now - you will kill the bugs, but they will be dead in your walls. Not sure I'd want them dead in there.....

These things were imported to get rid of aphids, have no natural enemies here, and they look for a cliff wall to burrow in & overwinter. Unfortunately they find buildings to be wonderful 'cliffs' to use for hibernation. They wait until cold weather, on a warmer day in fall they swarm a building & look for cracks to crawl in. In spring the reverse happens.

They try to figure out if we are food or not by biting us. They stink horrible if you crush them.

Most clean them up with a vacumn. Will kinda smell in the vacumn.... The fall spraying before they swarm the house is _the_ way to deal with them!

Yep tempo.

Spray around the outside of foundation and the windows.

It is safe to use indoors so on outside of house should be no problem.

Been using it around 4 houses every fall for 3 years and hardly any bugs now.

We sort of have a similar problem with stink bugs. As I understand it, they came over form SE Asia in the late 90s. They moved into my area about 2 years ago (SE PA). The behavior seems to be the same as the one listed in the bug link by a previous poster. They stink if you crush them. Looks like the same bug 'cept they're all brown (brown/gray) ..not striped....and kind of shaped like a shield.

Anyone have any experience with them? Should I use the advice I saw in the other link?
