Burch Planter Seed Plates

I just bought a one row Burch Planter. It doens"t look like it has been used much and has been kept out of the rain. It came with one plate which I think is for peas. I need a corn plate to use with it this spring. I"ve tried calling Burch this morning to see if they still make plates that will fit this planter but I haven"t got anyone yet. Thought someone may know where I can get one or what will fit. On the side of the planter it says P-15. I assume that"s the model number. Inside the hopper under the seed plate it says P-53. Any help would be great! Thanks!

There are several corn plates. Do you need medium flat corn plate or large flat corn plate of maybe round corn plate? If you get the plate # you need, I may have one? Ken Sweet

Hi Ken...thanks for the reply. I'm looking for a meduim flat corn plate to plant sweet corn with. But I'm open to suggestions on what has worked well for others. If you have anything that would work I'd be interested in buying them from you.

Thanks!
Allen

If Ken does not have the correct number you need . I may have one. It will take me several weeks before I can check my collection. A big snow drift will have to melt first. If you need one I will open my email for a two week period.ggp

Thanks...I will probably get a medium flat corn plate from burch but I am interested in any other plates you are Ken may have that you're willing to sell. Like I said in the other post I would like a bean plate for sting beans. (the round corn plate I have may work for that) and I would like a sunflower plate. I think that's about all I would need.
Thanks!

Small flat would probably be better for sweet corn as the seeds are generaly on the small size and with a medium plate would likely have the planter trying to plant 2 or three seeds in every cell and end up cutting most of them up so they would not grow. Perhaps an extra small flat might be what you need. Get a sample of your seed and try to fit 1, 2 & 3 kernals in each cell and see how they fit, you should only get 1 kernel per cell.
