I am building a 301 motor for my farmall 560 to pull in the 5500 lbs class. I have a silver diamond truck head with big valves and roller rockers.I am looking for around 340 to 360 cubic inch motor that is on a budget.I was going to bore it to 3 15/16 and wondering what is a good reliable piston. I was told a chevy 366 piston works good ,but not sure. I was looking for around 11-11.5to1 compression with the truck head. Also wondering how big of an offset grind I can go on the crank that would still be reliable. Thanks for an help

I thought I had it figured out one day for a guy where I used a buda diesel rod (2" journal) and a 3.91 std bore 318 mopar piston. You had to move the piston pin offset. Came out almost perfectly, but its been a year or so. Made 349 inches if I recall. That way you didnt have to get go far out on the bore with 3.91 vs 3.9375.might have been with cutting .040 off the block. Ill look back and see if I can find it.

A .060 over 292 chev 6 cyl. piston makes 320 ci. with stock stroke and has the correct compression height. The bore would be 3.935".

I built one where we stroked it to 5" even, used stock rods, 318 Chrysler pistons with 0.080 milled off the top. Took a lot of grinding in the block/rods/ cam, but we made it clear and it ran great. Make 360 cubes even, 11.5 compression, 150 HP.

snot nose kid that 5" stroke was that an offset grind or a complete redo of the crank, and if so how did it for you
