I have a tractor I am restoring some parts are bare some were coated with variprime by my sandblaster so they wouldn't rust. I want to shoot the tractor with an epoxy primer after assembly and then a Polurethane topcoat. Can epoxy primer go over Vari Prime?

Thanks
ED

Ed; not an expert, but PPG's Omni expoxy primer is made to go over bare metal or painted surfaces. If the primer has cured and been scuffed up I would think the expoxy would do okay.

I was in at ppg today and they have a product called autotech...something with phosphoric acid in it to stop flash rusting after sandblasting. And epoxy can go over that. If variprime is some sort of a typical primer then yeah epoxy primer can go over that as well. It pretty much goes over anything other than oil and water.

your talking duponts vari prime right? if so I'd double check with you dupont jobber about one of thier epoxy's to go over it. I'm not sure on duponts products.
