Carburetor 850

I re-built my TS-593 carb on my 850 ser# 85085302.
I put it back on and now gas leaks through the bottom a hole next to the drain plug when I cut on the gas. I took it off several time to see if the float is working I believe it is. Any advice is appreciated as always.

The needle and seat is leaking or the gasket. If you need to replace the needle and seat, go with the steal needle. It will last a good 10 years. The rubber vitons needles are only good for a few years or maybe months depending on how much corn juice is in your gas?

if it is a viton needle.. sometimes you need to tap it into the seat to set an initial imprint.. I don't like the viton needles.. prefer the metal ones..

The float needle seat may not be as tight as it should be or you left the ring gasket of of it. Or if it has the rubber tipped needle you need t get a set in the tip by tapping it with a screw drive handle etc. Like sound says. Or you may have a bad float. Shake it and if it sort of rattles it is bad

Did you put the spring on the float correctly? I had that problem when I did mine. I didn't see how it was when I took it apart because it jumped out at me. I took a guess and put it back on the wrong side. It took me 3 or 4 tries before I realized what I had done wrong.

Remove the carb,,, remove the seat and shoot a shot of sand in the inlet port of the carb and a good shot from the seat side,,, make sure nuttin is flaking off and causing the needle to not seal,,, install the seat TIGHT real TIGHT then use a sharpen pencil and lap the seat were the needle seats,,, make sure the float bowl vent and tank vent are clear,,,, you can also take the bowl off and install the top haft on upside down to check it for leaks are do it on the table....
