I'm looking to buy/make a carryall, and would like to see what people use or have made. I searched the archives and have seen a few, but a lot of the picture links are broken, etc. I would appreciate it if you could post a picture of yours or some ideas of what worked for you.
Thanks.

You can buy a basic frame at TSC. Then build a box or platform for it...Dont have one but pics have been posted before....

one from the implement gallery...only one that came up...

I bought one at Tractor Supply Store and used treated 1"x6"X1" treated boardds to build a floor and back on it, I put some aaarm rests out of 2"X4" scraps I had and it makes a goodd place fer my grandkids to ride. Just throw a bale of straw or hay fer them to sit on. It is wide enuf fer 1 adult and twow kids. Great to haul fence posts or fence wire to the site for use also. I paid $117.00 for the carry-all but don't remember what the wood cost, probably about $25-30, plus the carriage bolts.

Sorry , Jeff, I don't have any pictures of mine. I ain't got one of them fancy cameras yet. They cost too much, and I am poor and tight and on a fixed income, cause I refuse to work anymore. I'm tired.

I have a old Popular Mechanics book titled FARM MANUAL which has plans for a carry all. The illustration shows it attached to a Ford N tractor.

Sorry I don't have a pix of mine, but I'll paint ya a word picture.

I found my dearborne forks in a scrap pile but any version does well (TSC's looks almost identical to mine only with less rust)

What I did was I built skids with three sides, real basic and sturdy. I actually have three of these. I simply back the forks of the carry all into the skid and take it where I need it.

Why three? well I cut and rake my pastures then haul it back to the hay shed where my youngens stack and pack it. I take all three carry all skids out to the field, my bride or I and one of my youngins load one then I haul it to the shed while that youngin continues loading the next one. Once I get the carry all to the shed and drop it off, two more youngins begin unloading it into the shed and packing it into a nice pile. I head back to the field where I usually will find a loaded skid ready to be hauled, upon returning to the shed I then take the empty back to the field.

What used to take the 5 of us a day and a half to complete, we now have down to a science and it takes about 6 hours. Plus the hay stays just as fresh as if it was bailed and without the cost of a bailer...

I've just finished one for my 8N but will have to take a photo tomorrow & post it. I also bought the frame at TSC but the lumber was 2x10's.
