If that combine runs and is intact or restorable, post us some pictures. That way, instead of destroying a piece of history, someone can buy it, then you can go buy a good Toro or Craftsman snowblower and save yourself a ton of effort.

In my humble opinion, it is not worth the effort to make a snowblower out of a combine, especially one that does not have a hydrostatic transmission.

I cant believe that nobody has the imagination or the smarts to build one of these, the midwest is full of worn out combines and other equipment that could be recycled into something that could be usefull,my understanding is that Minnesota and North Dakota have lots of pld combines that are made into snowblowers.

Nuts is it you personal crusade to save every worn out combine/thresher in the world. The guy asked a simple question about a piece of equipment HE owns. So why should you care what he does with HIS equipment or are you Mr.Obma of farm equipment and want to tell us what we can do wit our warn out P.O.S machines

I think the paper is called machinery show or farm show, they have all sorts of conversions stuff and 5-8 years ago they had a man who took a Case 700 and mounted a blower on it he said it worked great, even used the a/c system as a modified heater sorry I do not have the copy any more or I would post it for you, I too like Cae combines but I would rather see you modify it and still be used than as a crushed pile, if she has the 318 in it it would be a good cold starter and have plenty of hp please post us some pics if you do it be neat to see!!! good luck cnt

Why are you so negative? I just gave a proposal to sell the combine to a collector if it still runs. Don't make the pre-judgement that the machine is worn-out or worthless. He already stated he wanted to make it into something else, so it is more logical to presume the old combine DOES STILL RUN.
There are lots of Case collectors here who would love to get it, too. Case's were never abundant, compared to other makes. Now, less than .02 percent of them are still with us today. THAT is my reason for posting to the owner, not you, to reconsider destroying a piece of history.
As for saving old combines, well, I think everyone on this forum shares my love for history and the preservation of old, rare combines before they're all gone. It would be wise for you to also take things into account, and help an old combine, picker, forager or even a tractor, find a good home, rather than a junkyard.

Nutty, it's called "Farm Show." I will have to go back and look up the exact pictures/story of the one you mentioned. The last time I saw a snowblower made from a combine, it was an old 410 Massey. In that case, the separator had burned [maybe it got wrecked] but was truly otherwise unusable as a combine, but controls, drive train and engine were apparently still good.
I second your thoughts on seeing this as an alternative to utter destruction, but Lea can still sell it, then find a good deal on a [used] blower. However, this is NOT the time of the year to be shopping around for snowblowers--at least bargains. Wait until summer.

I guess it's simply due to the fact, that the majority of us here, run combines and know way more about maintaining, repairing or even restoring them as such, rather than try to figure out how to make them into non-combines.

Here are some pics of my 1060

There is alot of talent and intelligents in YT,lots that post on here, never reveal that, and tolerate posts that are just the opposite.Actually this site is about keeping these old machines running for their intended purpose.I'm sure someone here does have the "smarts" to build what you are talking of,if your patient, but keep in mind each poster should be treated with respect

Does anyne know where I can find a wiring diagram for the starting circut for a 1970 case 1060 combine with the Dodge 318 engine?

If anyone sees some parts on this 1060 that they could use let me know. I am just interested in the drive line so everything else is going to come off.

I have to agree. If you value a P.O.S. at $X, then some of us are willing to match or even slightly exceed that price for the right equipment. It seems that you are after the $, so it should not matter who pays them to you, a greenback is a greenback! Right?

Thanks for the schmatic dbock do you also have the legend for this drawing,I couldn't find it on cnh website.

Here is the corresponding part numbers. It is for a 1660, but they should be the same. It was easier to scan this in than the 1060 parts manual I have. Also, were are you located? I maybe could use some parts.
