I have time now to work on the Case 2090 powershift. I have posted about this before and just want to refresh my memory since it has been a few months, plus I probably understand what is going on a little better now as far as symptoms. When using the tractor and you push the clutch in you can't pull it out of gear. Also, if you start it and push the clutch in it grinds when you try to put it in gear. The clutch pedal adjusting stop isn't really doing much as the clutch pedal arm hits the floor mat in the cab at the same time. When you push in the clutch pedal there is no Case power shift NOISE (GRUNT). Lastly, if driving forward and you push the clutch in the powershift lever will not entirely move back to the powershift #1 slot. You manually have to pull it back by hand to the #1 spot. When you hit the starter key and pull it into gear at the same time and drive the tractor the transmission does not slip.
Here is how the power shift lever works with the engine off:
Clutch pedal out - full range of shifting of lever on the power shift including forward #1,2,3 and Reverse
Clutch pedal in - lever will only move to forward #1 and Reverse
Here is how the power shift lever works with the engine on:
Clutch pedal out - will move into forward #1,2,3 but will not move into Reverse
Clutch pedal in - can only move to forward #1. Will not move to #2 or 3 and not in to reverse either.
I do have plenty of threads on the clutch cable under the cab to adjust it. What are some other things I should be looking for? Pulling the spools to make sure they are not stuck??
Thank you.
